Wọ́n kó jọ láti ọ̀nà oríṣìíríṣìí wá sí (ibí àbàtà), ó sì kó wọ́n mọ́ra gẹgẹ bí àbàtà ṣe má ń kò akojọ awọn Ràkúnmí mọra

It dimmed faintly, then passed as though

Ó yára mú omi diẹ, lẹ́yìn náà ó kọjá bíi pé

With the dawn, a caravan from Uhāḍah fleeing in haste.

Pẹ̀lú àárọ̀, ìrìnàjò láti Uhāḍah ń sá lọ́fà.

And the face of the earth is more desired to me whenever I spread upon it.

Mó mà ń fẹ̀ràn orí ìlẹ̀ nìgbàtí mobá sùn lorí ẹ

With my bentlike shape that the dried bones of my body are against the sleeping position.

Pẹ̀lu ara títẹ̀ mí, tí àwọ́n egungun ara gbígbẹ́ mí naa ń kọ̀dìí

I do rest on a bent bone, as though its facets

Mò fí egungun títẹ̀ rọ̀rí, ò wà dà gẹ́gẹ́ bí pe àwọ́n orí egungun naa
